Quality sales and Penneys 1969

The sales on Friday were quality sales, so Maureen, her mom and I had a great morning finding one great thing after the next. Maureen bought school supplies galore for her class room, and her mom scored a Pampered Chef deep dish, terracotta baking pan for a dollar! That was the find of the day.
What $33 bought on a Friday morning. I'm especially happy with the lightly used Cuisinart griddle. It replaces our over-used (not to mention greasy) griddle, which now resides in the garbage can awaiting collection tomorrow morning.

Asparagus pot to replace the less sturdy one that I picked up at a sale a few years ago.

Have no use for them, but could not resist these Crate and Barrel bowls, nor the Pyrex dish.

On Saturday, I went back for this picture...

...and I got suckered into buying this lot of Le Creuset cast iron cookware.

The sweetest thing I found this weekend is this plastic woven tote from JCPenneys. I paid $2 at an estate sale for it. It has the original price tag of $3.50 attached and inside was the credit card receipt: July 28, 1969. She bought it one week after Apollo 11's lunar module landed on the moon, and she never used it.

Got a nice Italian scarf made of the finest Italian polyester for a dollar at the same sale.

All in all, a great weekend for garage sales.
